Pathway offers two approaches for importing Figma prototypes: via link or via plugin. In this article, we will comprehensively analyze both approaches, highlighting their unique features and differences.
Importing Prototypes via Link
This method works through Figma's prototype display mechanism, allowing the use of all Figma features without restrictions.
However, we recommend keeping in mind that this technology requires a significant amount of memory and a stable Internet connection. As a result, respondents with weaker devices (especially older phones) or unstable internet connection may face difficulties.
To mitigate these challenges, we have developed a detailed guide for preparing the prototype, which will help minimize the likelihood of issues occurring on the tester’s end.
On average, when following the preparation guidelines, issues occur in about 0.2% of testers on computers and 1-3% during tests on mobile devices.
Import via Plugin
This method converts prototypes into HTML code, ensuring fast and stable operation on any device, including older mobile phones, even with unstable Internet connection.
However, this approach has its limitations regarding the Figma functionalities available for use during import. The details of the available functions are described in a separate article.
